World Cup in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined in Harrachov under Artificial Lights for the First Time

Nearly in three weeks, from December 11th to December 13th, the World Cup in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined in Harrachov will take place. The whole world elite of ski jumpers including Czech athletes such as Roman Koudelka and Jakub Janda introduce themselves on HS142 ski jump under artificial lights for the first time.
Harrachov will experience two premieres together. In one day the spectators will enjoy an exceptional sports experience. There will be a night competition during which all new seven light columns will be switched on. Moreover, team race in Nordic combined will start. The spectators can see world athletes from both disciplines. We know that on the start the whole ski jumping elite will appear, including the World Cup Champion Gregor Schlierenzauer from Austria. Everything for the World Cup has been arranged, including new logistics of the ski jumping area. We have been watching the weather forecast impatiently. The latest deadline for cancelling the World Cup is December 4th as we are able to cover a ski jump and a 1.5 km long trace with artificial snow in only three days.
The competition in Harrachov will be great. We expect a starting field with 80 athletes. The participation has been confirmed by German ski jumpers Martin Schmitt and Michael Uhrmann, or Adam Malysz from Poland. The Czech flag will show Roman Koudelka a Jakub Janda but also Martin Cikl, Antonín Hájek, Borek Sedlák and Lukáš Hlava.
We are looking forward to a Saturday team race and a Sunday individual race, both of which will be really interesting for the spectators thanks to the start and finish at the run-out of the ski-flying hill. We can see the whole world elite at the start, including Ronny Ackermann and a World Champion from Liberec 2009 Todd Lodwick. We are looking forward to seeing Felix Gottwald and Hannu Mannienn who have come back this season. Regarding Czech representatives, we can see Pavel Churavý, Tomáš Slavík, Míra Dvořák, Aleš Vodseďálek and Petr Kutál.
